To be inspired...

I love being pregnant so far and I can't wait for that belly to grow... It's really exciting!! Some days I've been feeling sad and overwhelmed, but those are normal feelings for a first time mommy-to-be...

We are currently figuring out our upcoming move and so many things are going on... I am anxiously awaiting baby's first kicks and I cannot wait to find out if we are really having a boy...

So far the pregnancy symptoms I've been experiencing are luckily very limited, although I do have vivid dreams every night...

With so much going on I feel like my ambitions kind of fell to the waste side a bit... I am not writing as much, nor do I get to put in the efforts I want and need to in my business venture There Is A Way... thereisawayllc.com... my own inspiration is not as vivid and I need to find my connection with the universe again... I believe this unusually cold Virginia winter is dulling my spirits more than I thought it would... I hope Spring will be here soon and I can feel fully inspired again... I do feel like I need to read more, meaning not only blogs, but actual books...

What do you do to feel inspired? Feel free to share in comments...

Entering the 2nd trimester...

I threw up for the first time in my pregnancy... my stomach was already pretty upset the night before, I took two missing vitamins before bed... baaaaad idea, they did not stay in... I'm also dealing with headaches every other day, but I'll manage... the belly is growing slooooooowly, I have lost weight in almost every other part of my body, slimmer face, slimmer legs, slimmer arms... but bigger boobs and a bit of a belly... I'll take it, just wondering how I am going to manage to gain 15 pounds... I'll try my best...

On either Tuesday or Saturday I get to take a tour around a birth center...

Friday was hubby's birthday and it went great... he loved it and his gifts... so glad I got to do something great for him, he is so supportive and amazing <3 <3

Getting close to week 12!!!!!

I will be able to tell everyone soon, but first I'll wait for my next OB/GYN appointment, as well as my midwife consultation... I am torn when it comes to where to give birth... I have very strong believes and so far I do not feel supported, a midwife might be perfect for me...

I am against medication during pregnancy, that includes an epidural and I am all for a natural birth, the full nature-intended experience...

I will post more as decisions are being made...

Baby is growing...

Making healthier choices...

I am a VERY goal-oriented person, which surely gets in my way sometimes, but it also helps, I set certain goals and boy can you be sure I stick to it... example... NO ALCOHOL during pregnancy, while some say a glass of wine won't hurt, in my opinion it certainly won't help either, so there will be absolutely no alcohol for me in these 9 months... I was as mentioned a bit overly strict with fast food, let's face it, I am wayyy too much into fast food... but I can proudly say I cut back by about 90%!! It is a treat now, what it definitely should be anyways, I am cooking at home more often and trying out some of the health hype things like 'Green Smoothies' and healthier cereal, adding lots of fresh fruit and chia seeds, my body will thank me for sure... I love the fresh taste and it feels good knowing that you treat yourself well... I really enjoyed my 20s with lots of partying, drinking, eating bad stuff, not enough sleep... well, the good stuff lol I got to create fun memories, I feel like I lived it up... and now I've reached a point where cutting back on certain things feels natural... out with the 'craziness' in with the 'mommy-mind'... time for the better choices in life, it is not just about me anymore... I am going to be present in my children's lives, not too busy partying it up, or emotionally unavailable, I have the best intentions to be in balance and I feel confident that I am going to mostly succeed... I have prepped myself for this choice for a long time, I'm ready!!

A BEAUTIFUL day...

I spoiled myself today... mommy-to-be needed it!! I went out for Panera Bread lunch with some of my girlfriends, funny bunch, since I am married and now expecting, I am not around so much anymore...

Then one of my favorite things... the nail salon... manicure, pedicure and eyebrow waxing... later more waxing, gotta keep those hairs in check lol walking out of my trusted spa I see a hair salon, so why not ask if they would cut my split ends real quick, well they did... I am beyond happy and all set for Christmas and the new year... NYE is going to be a quiet one, we both prefer that over the NYE hype all around us...

8 week summary...

Nausea = about 2-3 days so far... mood swings = constant lol this hormone level is not easy to handle... funny part is that hubby has more pregnancy symptoms than I do, but hey, we'll manage, hubby is pretty understanding of 'the moods', even tho this might actually be hard to understand... despite the hormones I am already a fairly emotional person, but I'm sure I'll find the right herbal remedy soon, to balance me out... I always do... that's kind of my go-to-thing... homeopathy... recently realized that 'Vitamin Shoppe' carries tons of homeopathic remedies <3 <3

Looks like tons of emotions run through your head in the first trimester... lots to handle... lots to figure out... try to keep yourself busy, too much down time = too much time to think...

My take on pre-natal vitamins...

So even before I knew I was pregnant I figured it's good to take pre-natal vitamins ahead of time, so I looked up what should be in them, compared and then decided to get Wegmans brand pre-natals... Once I found out we are expecting, I realized I will need DHA now as well, someone recommended Ocean Mom's DHA to me, so I went to 'Vitamin Shoppe' and got them...

At my first doctor's visit I got a prescription for OB Complete pre-natals, comparing the two, the OTC ones clearly win!! I find it odd that they win in comparision, but my intuition tells me that the ones I picked, are the right ones for me, so I let my doctor know... after all, always remember it is your pregnancy and your intuition is probably the best guideline...

So I am now taking:

4 Wegmans pre-natals
1 Ocean Mom's DHA
1 Nature made Iron (if needed)
3 Nature Made Cranberry for bladder health
2 Probiotic live bacteria in the am

Try to find your own balance and do what feels good, women need to trust their intuition...

Predictions...

Oh hi there December... the month where doctor's appointments just won't really happen as planned due to snow... gotta love VA... re-scheduled twice... but today... Friday the 13th was the day!!

So here are two personal predictions first: We believe we are having twin boys (we have been hoping and wishing & wishing and hoping), I believe they are going to arrive on July 28th 2014 (reasons I am rooting for the 28th... we met on July 28th and my wish to have children before my 30th birthday would come true! I'm turning 30 on July 29th.)

Here are the 'for now' appointment results: The first and early sonogram only showed one baby today... and predicted due date is July 30th 2014...

After completing these 9 months of creating life... we'll know if our personal predictions somehow will end up being true... fingers crossed...

I'm a blogger now...

December 12th 2013: Today I've decided to start a blog... what is my topic you ask? Let me explain... starting with what I stand for... I stand for positivity, but never to forget the 'debbie-downer' moments of life, the dark or sad moments, the ones that make you proud when looking back, that is where your strength comes from... I am all about learning from my mistakes and taking a closer look... progressing as an individual, learning life's lessons...
I am going to combine the positivity aspect of me with my adventures as being an immigrant, being a newlywed and expecting new mom...

I'm going to write about different cultural aspects and traditions, love for my new home, reasons why I am not living where I was born, the married life and mommy-to-be feelings/choices/ideas/insights etc.

All in one place... welcome to...
Not just another baby journey...
